Homemade Cheez It Crackers


Hey guys! I guess I have never bake any crackers yet so far in my life. 

Accidentally I found this recipe in the Pinterest! Actually, Pinterest is such a good place to seek for recipes. They got lots of recipes and the most important is their photos are awesome! I subscribed to it just to see the photos actually. And they are so sweet, sometime they will update it and send it to my hotmail. How sweet it that! I love Pinterest!! ^_^

Okay, I first seen this crackers and looked at the ingredients, how easy to get them. (Oh yes! It's cheese!) So, I decided to give it a try. But, the cheddar cheese in my fridge actually I need it to bake potato cheese and now I think I have to buy it again. Goshhhhh!! This crackers are very delicious! And they are quite addictive! (My brotherS finished most of them!) Salty & cheezy in taste and crispy in texture man! I am really happy of the outcome! 

Cheez it, a cute little snack that I believe will be loved by cheese lover, and I.... love it to the MAX! :D

INGREDIENTS: 
8 oz cheddar cheese (shredded)
60g unsalted butter (soften)
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
3-4 tbsp ice water

METHOD:

1. First, mix together the shredded cheese,  half of the salt and the softened butter. Add in the flour and mix until the dough looks like little fluffy clumps. Then, with the mixer running begin adding the ice water and mix until a soft dough forms. ( I use hand to do it.)

2. Divide the dough in two, form each into a disk and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes. Then, roll the dough out on a floured surface into about an 1/8 inch thickness and using a fluted pastry cutter, cut the dough into about 1 inch squares.

3. Preheat your oven to 200 celcius and line your baking sheets with parchment paper. Transfer your little cheez-its onto the parchment paper, make a hole in the center of each with a toothpick/chopstick, then sprinkle them with the rest of the salt. 

4. Bake for about 15 minutes (8 minutes without fan, 7 minutes with fan on). Baking time will depend on your oven, just watch them carefully so they don't burn!), or until they have puffed up and
the edges begin to brown. Let cool before eating. (They are best eaten right away, but you can store them in an airtight container).
